North Laine · Brighton

Honest plant-based food.
No preaching,
just good cooking.

A small cafe tucked off Sydney Street. All-day brunch, sourdough toasties from the corner oven, cakes in the cabinet and a flat white that tastes like coffee.

Where it comes from

Three farms, one roastery,
a couple of friends.

Most of what we serve is grown, baked or roasted within an hour of here. We buy short, pay fairly, and let the ingredients do the heavy lifting.

Veg & leafy greens

Hayward's Heath Farm

Driven over twice a week. Always seasonal.

Bread & pastry flour

Real Patisserie

Brighton stoneground, milled the old-fashioned way.

Single-origin coffee

Horsham Roastery

Direct trade, roasted small batch, never sitting around.

A little spot off
Sydney Street.

Bramble started in 2022 because we wanted somewhere proper to eat plant-based food in Brighton — without anyone making a big deal of it. Just nice food, good coffee, and a corner table to sit at for a couple of hours.

The kitchen runs near enough zero-waste; we make our own oat milk daily, compost the lot, and our power comes from Ecotricity. We're a certified B-Corp, but we'd rather you came in for the cake.

Honestly the best brunch in Brighton, vegan or otherwise. The sourdough toasties are something else and the coffee's as good as anywhere on the Laine.
