Dry walls.
Dry conscience.

Six signs you've got damp.
Damp doesn't fix itself — it spreads. The earlier we catch it, the smaller the bill. If you've spotted any of these in your home or rental, get a survey booked before plaster starts coming off in sheets.
Musty smell
That distinct earthy smell in cellars, ground-floor rooms or behind furniture pushed against external walls.
Peeling paint
Paint or wallpaper bubbling and flaking off — usually at skirting level on ground-floor walls.
Tide marks
A horizontal stain about a metre up the wall, often with white salt deposits. Classic rising damp signature.
Black mould
Black spotting in corners, around windows, behind wardrobes. Condensation related — but worth surveying.
Crumbling plaster
Plaster going soft, powdery or detaching from the wall behind. Salts have migrated through and broken the bond.
Cold, damp walls
Walls that feel cold to touch even when the heating's on. Often the first sign of penetrating damp from outside.
Five specialisms. One properly qualified team.

Rising Damp
Failed or missing damp-proof course causing salt-stained skirtings and bubbling plaster. Chemical DPC injection, re-plaster with salt-retardant render, 20-year written guarantee.

Penetrating Damp
Water tracking through walls from outside — failed pointing, leaking gutters, faulty render. We trace the source first, fix the cause, then make good inside.

Cellar Tanking
Full waterproofing of cellars and basements using cementitious tanking slurry or cavity drain membrane. Turn unusable space into a dry, habitable room.

Woodworm Treatment
Common Furniture Beetle, Death Watch, House Longhorn — surveyed, identified, treated with permethrin-based timber spray. Certificate issued, mortgage-lender accepted.

Dry Rot & Wet Rot
Serpula lacrymans (dry rot) and Coniophora puteana (wet rot) eradication. Affected timbers cut out, masonry sterilised, sound timber treated. Full structural integrity restored.

Surveyors first. Tradesmen second.
We've been the go-to for damp and timber problems in Greater Manchester since 2008. Every survey we do is carried out by a CSRT-qualified surveyor — not a salesman dressed up as one.
That matters. The damp industry is full of cowboys flogging chemical DPC to every Victorian terrace they walk into. We diagnose first, and quite often the answer is: it's not rising damp, it's a leaky gutter. Cheaper for you. Honest for us.
Honest diagnosis. Done properly.
