Honest family
pictures.
Not posed, not over-edited. Just the real bits — the sleepy newborn on your chest, the toddler with porridge in her hair, the way your partner looks at the baby when they think no one's watching. Cotswolds & London, eight years in.

September openings
A year of
small moments.
A glimpse of the last twelve months — newborns photographed in their first fortnight, maternity walks at golden hour, a first birthday in a kitchen full of icing. Nothing here was staged.

Sessions, simply put.
I come to you, quietly, while everything is still new. Natural light, your sofa, the cot you spent weeks building. No props, no headbands.
Outdoors or at home — your bump, your partner, the older ones who don't quite understand yet. Soft, warm, never awkward.
A morning or afternoon of real life — the walk, the kitchen, the bath, the bedtime story. Pictures that look like your family actually is.
Four visits across baby's first year. We watch the same little person turn into a sitter, a crawler, a toddler.
Small-batch mornings in the Stroud studio — warm lights, plain backdrops. Christmas bookings open every September.

I've photographed
nearly 400 families.
I'm Hazel — I live in a stone cottage on the edge of Stroud with two children, a spaniel called Hopper, and an old Hasselblad I rarely put down. I've been photographing families for eight years and I still get a little nervous before every shoot. I think that's the point.
I'm a member of the Master Photographers Association and I trained at Bristol. I work in soft, natural light, shoot mostly on film for the keepsake images, and edit gently — no heavy colour grading, no skin smoothing, no removing the bits that make you, you.
I cover the Cotswolds and London, and I take on around 60 families a year. Never more.
Three ways to begin.
Every session includes a personal pre-shoot phone call, a private gallery, and edited high-resolution files. Prints, albums and the fine-art box can be added afterwards.

“Hazel arrived an hour after we got home from hospital. She made tea, held the baby while I showered, and somehow took the most extraordinary photographs of the messiest, sleepiest week of our lives. We will treasure these forever.”
