Curated homeware. Gifts you’d actually keep.
A small homeware and gift shop on Catherine Hill, Frome — stocking thirty-odd independent British makers. Ceramics from down the road, linen from the next county, beeswax candles from a one-woman workshop in Devon. Nothing mass-produced.

A small collection, chosen for the months ahead.
Eight things we’re especially fond of right now. Each one made by a small workshop or studio we know personally. Click and collect from the shop, or we’ll wrap and send.

The people behind the shelves.
Every brand on our shelves belongs to someone we’ve met, written to, or visited. We pay them properly, we don’t haggle on wholesale, and we don’t stock anything we wouldn’t happily put in our own homes. Here are four of them.
Wren Pottery
Wheel-thrown stoneware, fired in a small studio outside the city.
Hollow Tree Candles
Pure British beeswax, hand-poured. Slow-burning, no fragrance oils.
Foxglove Mill
Stonewashed linen woven on a family loom — throws, napkins, runners.
Quiet Press
Letterpress botanical prints and a short list of beautifully made books.
“Hearth is the only shop in town where I can buy a present and know I won’t see the same thing in a chain store next week. Properly thoughtful — and beautifully wrapped, always.”
Catherine Hill, Frome.
We’re a few doors down from the top of Catherine Hill — the steepest, prettiest shopping street in Somerset. Come in, have a proper look, ask about the makers. The kettle’s usually on.
On the first Sunday of each month we’re open extended hours for the Frome Independent Market — worth the trip from Bath, Bristol or further afield.
