Will-writing
A properly drafted will, tailored to your family and assets. Single or mirror wills, signed and witnessed in the same visit where possible.
A small Cheltenham practice that has been writing wills, registering Lasting Powers of Attorney and walking families through probate for fifteen years. No jargon. No legalese for its own sake. Just a clear conversation, the right document, and a fixed price agreed before we start.

We don’t do conveyancing, court work, or anything else outside private client. Wills, probate, LPAs and trusts are the whole of our practice — and have been since 2010.
A properly drafted will, tailored to your family and assets. Single or mirror wills, signed and witnessed in the same visit where possible.
Health & Welfare and Property & Finance LPAs. We complete the OPG forms, witness signatures and handle registration.
From grant-only applications to full estate administration. We’ll do as much or as little as the family needs, with a written estimate before any chargeable work.
Discretionary trusts, life-interest trusts, and protective arrangements for vulnerable beneficiaries. Drafted, explained, and reviewed every few years.
STEP-qualified advice on gifting, business reliefs, trusts and life policies. Aimed at keeping more of what you’ve built within the family.
Life changes — and so should your will. Codicils, replacement wills, and quiet check-ins every five years or after a major event.

Not everyone needs the same will. A 32-year-old with a young family is doing something quite different from a 72-year-old with grown children and a second marriage. We listen first.
Choosing guardians, setting up trusts for under-18s, and writing the letter of wishes that sits alongside the will.
Protecting the business through Business Property Relief, partnership agreements, and succession clauses that don’t leave your family fighting.
Mirror wills for couples, severance of joint tenancies, and the protections cohabiting partners don’t get automatically.
Lasting Powers of Attorney, care fees planning, and updating wills written decades ago when life looked very different.
Second marriages, stepchildren, and the careful drafting that lets you provide for a new spouse without disinheriting your own children.
Already lost someone and unsure where to start? We can take the probate process off your hands — or just guide you through the bits that matter.
A short phone call beforehand, so we know what assets you have and who the people in your life are. No paperwork yet — just a conversation.
One appointment — at our office or your home — where we talk through the questions, draft on the spot, and read every clause aloud before you sign.
Signed and witnessed in the same sitting where possible. The original goes into our fireproof storage at no charge, copies to you.
A check-in every five years — or sooner if life changes. Codicils are quick. Replacement wills are simple. We’d rather you updated than left it.

A great many of our clients prefer to do this at the kitchen table rather than in an office. We’ve been doing home visits since the day we opened, and there’s no fuss to it — and no extra charge within fifteen miles of Cheltenham.
Care home, hospital, sheltered housing, or simply your front room — wherever feels easiest. We bring everything we need, including independent witnesses if a relative is named in the will and can’t do it themselves.
Evening and weekend appointments are perfectly possible. Most home visits are an hour or so, start to finish.

Last Word Wills & Probate was set up in 2010 on the simple principle that most people would write a will if it didn’t feel like such a chore. So we made it less of one.
Fixed fees, agreed up-front. One appointment instead of three. Plain English instead of Latin. STEP-qualified inheritance tax advice for clients with more complex estates, and a permanent door open for the family when the time eventually comes.
We’re a small practice on purpose. You will speak to the same person from the first phone call to the signing — and we’ll still be here when your executors need us.
“Mum was eighty-six and didn’t want to leave the house. They came out on a Saturday morning, made her a cup of tea, and had everything signed and witnessed before lunch. It was the most straightforward thing we did that year.”
Twenty minutes on the telephone with no obligation. We’ll talk through what you’re after, whether you’d like us to come to you, and confirm a fixed fee before any chargeable work begins.
