Pickets & Posts is a small Norfolk outfit — Dan, his brother Tom, and a yard out the back of a barn in Hethersett. We've been putting fences up since 2006, mostly for repeat customers and word of mouth jobs across the county.
We don't do panel-from-the-back-of-a-van work. Every fence is spec'd to the site — clay soil, sandy soil, wind-loaded coastal runs at Cromer all need handling differently. We'll tell you what'll last and what won't.

Most domestic runs are quoted within the week and on site within a fortnight. Bigger jobs — driveway gates, commercial security — we'll be straight about the lead time.

We walk the boundary with you, measure up, check for cables and clay, and talk through what'll suit the garden. Free, no obligation.
Written Quote
Within the week — itemised, with material spec and timber grade. No 'verbal estimate then a surprise on the day' nonsense.
Materials & Slot
Booked in for a date that suits. Class A pressure-treated timber delivered direct to site the morning of.
Posts Driven Deep
Concrete posts set 600mm into postcrete, or timber posts to 750mm. Two-man crew, straight lines, no shortcuts. Old fence taken away when we leave.
We don't do cheap timber.
A fence is only as good as the wood that goes in the ground. We use one timber merchant, the same one for fifteen years, and we know exactly what's coming off the truck.
Class A Timber
All softwood is pressure-treated to UC4 (in-ground contact). 15-year rot warranty on every panel.
Concrete Posts
Slotted concrete posts and gravel boards available on closeboard runs — outlast the timber by decades.
Stainless Fixings
Annular ring shanks and stainless screws — no rust streaks bleeding down the timber after one winter.
Hardwood Gates
Oak and iroko gates built in the workshop. Mortice-and-tenon joints, marine ply panels where specified.
